*numerous requirements of this merit badge include sending and receiving code.  The Scouts will do these component during the virtual session.

**Requirement 7 asks the Scout to, "On a Scout outing, lay out a trail for your patrol or troop to follow. Cover at least one mile in distance and use at least six different trail signs and markers." This can be completed with two Scouts and appropriate adult leadership.  The first Scout lays out the trail, the second follows the signs and markers. The first Scout follows the second Scout and picks up the signs and markers for a Leave No Trace completion.
